Halloween November 3, 2021 Downtown Elk City was full of mad fun on Thurs- day, Oct. 28 as Moonlight Madness brought a costumed crowd out. The Chamber of Com- merce held two costume contests: one for the four-legged and one for those that stand on two. Many organizations were present such as Endur- ance Federal Credit Union which handed out hot cocoa, SWOSU, GPRMC, Comforting Hands Hos- pice, Western Oklahoma Alzheimer’s Coalition and others. Ponce Productions provided music and emcee services while a few local food trucks were out to provide a dinner option. Most busi- nesses handed out candy to trick or treaters and many also had special sales going on. The Youth Library at the Elk City Carnegie Library also par- ticipated in the fun with their Area 580 theme and annual scavenger hunt. Many of the kiddos also found themselves delighted by the appear- ance ofa mini pony who donned a down costume for the occasion. Staff photos by Burgundy Lee Hanra- han.
